Sat. night the Astros won. However so did the Brewers. It left the Astros 3 1/2 games back with two games to go. And that is where the Astros will stay for the rest of the year. Our season is over and now I need to find a new team to cheer for this October. Go Tampa Bay Rays!

Why the Rays?

Way the Rays you ask? Easy. One they are from another division then then Astros. Which will lead me to another point. All the teams from the National league that are in the playoffs I really do not like. The Cubs, a long time rival and a media darling are disliked, the Brewers are the team that the commissioner loves and successfully rigged to make the playoffs, the Phillies are just rivals and I really do not have much against them save for the playoffs that they beat us in way back in the 80s, and the Dodgers are also rivals but they have my least favorite player playing for them, Manny Ramirez. So that is why I am not picking any teams from the NL, which is my favorite league, but there is not a team that I feel like I can pull for. In the AL, (American League) there are the Red Sox and I really do not like them. The Angles I really have no real beep against them, and I am hoping they beat the Red Sox in the first round. But then there is one other thing. The Twins and White Sox are headed into Game 163 (see post from a few weeks ago.) And I really do not like the White Sox as they beat the Astros in the 2005 World Series. The Twins on the other hand are my cousin’s favorite team, and a long time ago I promised to cheer for his team as long as they were not playing the Astros, and he would do the same. But they have not made the playoffs yet so I really could not pick them yet. And now to the question. Why the Rays? Last year they where at the bottom of their division. This year they won it. (unheard of) Beating out powerhouse teams like the Yankees and Red Sox. That’s right for the first time in ten or so years the Yankees are not going to the postseason, thanks to the Rays!

By the way did anyone get that link to work from the last post?
Um...I didn't try it...do you want me to?

Well only if you want to see it. I think it is great...But I am not sure you would completely understand it. The video is old and it is hard to see and hear. And it really helps to know the game of baseball well to guess at what is happening. So you may not enjoy it like I do.

P.S. Go Twins! Beat the White Sox for me!
I saw your post on Jessica's blog, and couldn't help slamming your stros for being one of the worst, most abject, and most pathetic team of whiners that ever played the game of baseball. Trying to explain away a no-hitter by saying that the neutral site wasn't really neutral? I thought this was professional baseball. Anyway, you can probably tell I'm just bitter about being down 0-2 to the Dodgers...
Nice blog, I'll check in more often, hopefully on something we agree on a little more... :)
Like I said on Jessica's blog, about a week ago I was mad enough to blast any Cubs fans that I could find. But now it is not to bad. It was not the neutral site only you know. All athletes have schedules and take good care of them selves. Sleep well eat on time every day, they have things down to the minute. All of the Astros had been up late with their families weathering the hurricane the night before. Then at 4:00 am in the morning they were put on plane to Milwaukee. While people back home were dieing they were playing ball and wondering about there family. I know everyone says they are pros they should be able to put that behind them for the games. They make millions, they are super men. And I say no. They are humans. If they had gone over there and played the best baseball they had all year I would worry that they had no hart what so ever, and did not care about the people still in Houston. It was wrong of Bud Sileg to take them away from their families at that time. I am proud of my Stros for being human. And as for those Cubs fans that cheered on Ike as it killed my neighbors, all that I can say is that I hope you were not one of them. Those people are not humans. But anyway thanks for posting on my blog. I usually wish other baseball fans the best for there teams but in this case I have already made it clear that is not the case. So instead I wish you and your family the best.

P.S. Really you cannot just say that Ike had nothing to do with the Astros getting one hit in two games. I think they did the right thing when they gave flack to Bud Sileg, to let him know he did wrong. And I will end this whit the saying that you and your Cubs have been say for the past 101 years. NEXT YEAR!
