And Now...The Moment we've all Been Waiting for!!!

Opening Day!
Granted, the Braves and the defending Champion Phillies played last night, with the Braves downing the Phillies 4-1. But for the Houston Astros and me...Baseball starts tonight. Cubs at Astros, Zambrano vs. Oswalt, Jeremy against Robert. It is all here...the makings of a good season, with only twenty-nine teams standing between that good season and another so-so season. We have 162 games to go before the eight best* teams face off for a chance to be called "World Chamions". Stay tuned for the outcome...and get off the edge of your seat, its bad for the chair.

Awesome blog-I found it via Rose's. I see that you are a big Astros fan-wish the Tigers hadn't traded Pudge to NY for Farnsworth. He was and still is a Detroit fan favorite.

Look who won their opening game, the Texas Rangers 9-1, who'd thought that. Unfortunatley they still have 161 games left.

Meiner family, Welcome to the Pitcher of Record. Thanks for commenting. I have been rather short on baseball fans commenting on my blog. As for Pudge, I know that he has been a fan favorite for a lot of teams. Ask Ken (see comment below yours) He is a Texas Rangers fan, and like Pudge a lot. Then Marlins have some great memories of him as well. Like the 2003 NLDS against the Giants. The game ending play at the plate...But now I am going on and on about baseball again...Thank you for commenting. And good luck to your Tigers.

Ken, Yes they did win...And win big. The Stros came up short, but like you said, there is still 161 games left.

EAT IT!!!

I tend to not get too excited about baseball season til the All-Star break or so. The season is just too long, and individual games are just not that important anymore. I am a much bigger football and NCAA Tournament fan.

Oh, Never mind...I should have known...Cubs fans are like that. Oh well...What can you expect, after losing for 101 years, I guess a fan might get board of a team like that.

I think the major flaw with baseball is that usually it is pretty boring.

Boring for some maybe...But if you know the game and understand what is going one...there is a whole new excitement.
